As the program was arranged for the people of monotonous and tiring life, it was very much expected that it’s going to be a glamorous, humorous night on every segment. Meril-Prothom alo arranged such beautiful event on 9 April, 2010 at Bangabondhu International convention centre.
The place was vibrantly colored with all the stars of media. Who was not there? From Ferdousi Rahman, Suchonda, Faruk, Kabari, Alamgir, Runa Laila, Raisul Islam Asad, and Suborna to those who had just stepped in the vast media.
This program was arranged to award the winners of Meril-Prothom alo Taroka Jarip contest. The winners were selected on the basis of the votes which were collected from the people of all segments of our country. Guests, Celebrities and all the renowned faces of all the sectors were started to appear from the afternoon. But the auditorium was already jam-packed with the cheering spectators.
The stage was decorated like a sky, full of dazzling stars. In front of the heavy crowded auditorium the two hosts suddenly emerged from a tiger. Ferdous, the famous hero and the brilliant host of the last two times, handed over the function to recent craze Mosharrof Hossain and Chanchal Chowdhury.
Their hilarious presentation had successfully started the program with a jolt and eventually brought the crowd into a joyous mood. To make it more happening ‘Lux-Channel I’ stars Orsha and Ishana joined the stage.
Before that, the event launched with the short films ‘Lalbati’, ‘Biddasagor’, ‘Trishna’, ‘Deyaler oi pashe’, ‘Caught behind’ which were made by the readers of Prothom-alo. The short films were based on the dark sides of the society.
Editor of the Prothom alo Mr. Matiur Rahman then welcomed the audience and described the motto of arranging this program. After a warm greeting, the Managing director of Square Toiletries Ltd. Mr. Anjan chowdhury gave a short speech about the vision of this event.
After that, the main part of the program began. In between the gap of distributing awards the stars performed dance, songs, acting and many more lightening performances. All the prominent faces Api karim, Monalisa, Prova, Mumu, Sakib khan, Tisha, Nancy, Badhon, Rezwana chowdhury Bonna, Habib along with the famous cricketer Shakib al Hasan were also make the program more stunning.
By arranging this event, Meril-Prothom alo award giving ceremony reached its 12 years of success. Renowned singer of Nazrul song ‘Sudhin Das’ was also awarded the ‘Life time achievement’ award.
